I suppose the short answer to the potential question of ‘who the hell is Adrian Truss?’ is, simply put, the story of a man who found that specializing in one specific art form was not nearly as much fun as experiencing what the wider world (and the world of art especially) had to offer.
Thusly, I started out as a stage actor, moved on to film and television and then back to the stage in the world of comedy, then branched out into producing and writing and then narrowed my acting niche down to voice performance, particularly animation and then forayed into the world of fiction writing. That’s the nutshell version.
I have worked for great sums of money and I have worked for free, depending on the nature of the work. I have worked with the famous, the not-so-famous and the completely infamous.
I own a boat.
I like cats.
I have a wonderful life partner. Brooke Johnson.
I have had cancer.
Besides acting, I have worked as a special needs councilor, a truck driver, a sheet metal worker, a department store Santa Claus, a leather coat salesman, a stationery store clerk, a restaurant manager and a resort entertainment director.
I have written and directed plays, sung and played guitar in a rock band, produced industrial entertainment and created characters in cartoon shows.
But this site really is about informing you and others about my fiction writing and about a few exciting projects that my comedy troupe, Illustrated Men, is up to.
